World-class BBQ teams attended this event. The event was a success and great BBQ was sold, and judged. $5,200 in cash were given away and the teams that won were exited. We hope to have another great Holy Smoke BBQ next year, and hope you will be there.

The Monastery Mystery contest was open only to BBQ contestants (one entry per team). The Holy Smoke Showdown provided all Monastery Mystery contestants with the same three mystery ingredients. Contestants then prepared a dish “entirely on site” using all portions of the three mystery ingredients. Additional ingredients could be added. KCBS rules “did not” apply to presentation.

The Smokin’ Salsa contest was open to the general public. One salsa entry per entry fee. Salsa entry fee did not include any space. Salsa was not required to be prepared “on site”. Smokin’ Salsa entry fee included one (1) free BBQ Showdown entry on Friday only.

The Weenie Dog Races were held on Saturday evening at 6:30. The Weenie Dog Races were open to the general public Dachshund breed of dogs. It was a lot of fun, and we will do the same event next year.
