The Royal Gorge Holy Smoke Showdown is a Kansas City BBQ Society sanctioned event that is located neat the historic Holy Cross Abbey in beautiful Cañon City, Colorado. This showdown will feature a complete four-category BBQ competition. World-class BBQ teams attended our event. The Holy Smoke Showdown had very high public visibility being located on U.S. Highway 50. In addition to the BBQ showdown, we had a Monastery Mystery cooking contest (BBQ competitors only). The Smokin’ Salsa contest on Friday night was open to the general public (including vendors). We had live entertainment on Friday and all day on Saturday. Weenie Dog Races were held on Saturday evening. Hope to see you there next year!!!
